Marco Island in the Winter
Marco Island’s winter weather is warmer than much of the United States experiences. It’s cool enough to let you know it’s winter, but it’s still nice enough for you to get outdoors and enjoy all the activities of the area. For November and December specifically, high temperatures stay in the 70s, while low temperatures dip into the 50s and 60s.
The weather is pleasant enough for you to enjoy any activity you may have in mind, and you’ll need nothing more than a light jacket to protect you from the breeze. The cooler weather in the evening is perfect to bring the holiday spirit to the island, and these fun Marco Island Christmas events are the perfect way to celebrate.
Tree Lighting in Veterans Park
What better way to ring in the Christmas season than with a traditional tree lighting? The Veterans Park Christmas Tree Lighting brings together locals and visitors alike for a fun, free event. Come out to enjoy the live music, dance the evening away, and watch the gorgeous Christmas tree come to life right before your eyes. This evening event is the perfect ending to a fun day full of sightseeing.
This year, the Christmas Tree Lighting in Veterans Park will be held on December 7th, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. It is held in Veterans Community Park in the heart of Marco Island.
Street Parade
You simply can’t do Christmas without a traditional parade, and Marco Island has one of the best. Watch the cars, floats, and bands travel down San Marco Road to San Marco and Barfield. Let your kids collect candy from the floats and watch Jolly Old Saint Nick himself ride down the street! You can view the festivities from either side of San Marco Road, so just pick a spot and wait for the fun to begin.
The Marco Island Annual Christmas Tree Parade will take place on December 14th, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Boat Parade
For a unique twist on your typical Christmas parade, come out to the Marco Island Boat Parade! This event presents a festive family evening where you can watch the decorated boats float past. Two of the best places to watch the show are from Snook Inn on the Marco River and The Esplanade on Smokehouse Bay. No matter where you sit, you’ll feel the full spirit of Christmastime with a special Marco Island flare.
The Marco Island Boat Parade will take place on December 21st, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
